IPL Brightgreen Buy Back Scheme
Giving rigid plastics a second life
Home / Buy back scheme
Our Buy Back Scheme is a practical, circular solution designed to rescue unwanted or surplus rigid plastics, repurpose them through responsible recycling processes, and renew their value by transforming them into high quality, reusable products.
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and innovation, we’re inviting businesses and organisations across the UK to join us in reshaping the lifecycle of plastic.
The IPL Brightgreen Buy Back Scheme is a UK-wide initiative designed to collect and recover rigid plastic products, including:
Once returned, these materials are carefully sorted, processed, and repurposed at our UK based facilities to create new, durable products for use in logistics, storage, manufacturing, retail, and more.

Environmental benefits
Help reduce plastic waste, cut carbon emissions, and keep valuable resources in use longer. Contributing to the circular economy means less reliance on virgin materials and more sustainable choices for your business.
Full circle recycling
We close the loop by giving your rigid plastic items a new purpose. Every product returned is reprocessed in-house, maintaining quality while reducing the environmental impact of disposal.
Commercial value
Selling your end-of-life plastic products to us means you can recoup value from assets that would otherwise be discarded. We offer competitive pricing and flexible collection options.
Space and waste reduction
Clearing out redundant plastic items frees up valuable site space and helps streamline waste management practices.

The scheme is open to a wide range of partners across the UK, including:

UK businesses with surplus or end-of-life plastic pallets can sell them to IPL Brightgreen through our Buy Back Scheme. We collect rigid plastics from sites across the UK, confirm the quantity and quality, and pay you for material that would otherwise be thrown away. Plastic pallets, crates, totes and bins are all accepted. See the full list of plastics we buy and recycle or get in touch to arrange a collection.
Yes. Through the IPL Brightgreen Buy Back Scheme we pay UK businesses for sorted rigid plastics rather than charging them to dispose of it. What you receive depends on the type, grade and volume of plastic, with polypropylene (PP) and HDPE being the main materials we recover. Send us your material details and we will provide a quote and arrange collection or delivery.
The scheme takes rigid plastics including storage containers and boxes, plastic pallets and crates, industrial totes and bins, and end-of-life or moulded components. The materials we recover are mainly polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which we reprocess at our UK facility into new products. If you are not sure whether your plastic qualifies, contact our team for a material assessment.
Plastic pallets that cannot be reused are sorted and ground into granules, then reprocessed into recycled HDPE and PP pellets that manufacturers use to make new products. IPL Brightgreen handles this in-house at our UK facility, so material returned through the Buy Back Scheme stays in a closed loop.
