We’re thrilled to join WRAP and Recycle Now in their exciting new campaign, Rescue Me, during Recycle Week 2024, from 14–20 October. This year’s focus is on tackling confusion around recycling and inspiring those who may not be avid recyclers to start with just one item!
How Will This Campaign Change Recycling Perceptions?
IPL Brightgreen has been partnering with local authorities, brands, retailers, waste management companies, and NGOs to showcase the entire recycling journey—from collection and processing to transforming recycled materials into new products, through our buyback scheme and other initiatives.
Our goal is to prove that recycling truly makes a difference.
By clearing up misunderstandings and sharing the stories behind recycling, *Rescue Me* will inspire people to recognise that every small action counts. It’s not just about increasing recycling efforts but about understanding that every item recycled has a positive impact.
Meet the Heroes of Recycling
The *Rescue Me* campaign highlights everyday items that often go unrecycled. WRAP is turning these forgotten recyclables into relatable characters with unique stories, from toothpaste tubes to kitchen cleaner bottles.
Why give these items personalities? Turning them into characters aims to create an emotional connection within our communities, encouraging a sense of responsibility. Recycling should be more than a task—it should be a meaningful and rewarding part of everyday life.
Inspiring the Next Generation
During Recycle Week, WRAP will also launch a community activity aimed at educating young people about recycling. If you visit primary schools or lead groups like Brownies or Cubs, they want to hear from you!
